Jake Ohlemiller -- Pastor

Jake Ohlemiller grew up in the St. Louis area as the oldest son of Hoosier-born parents. Jake first surrendered his life and career to Christ while studying Agricultural Engineering at Purdue University. After finishing his degree in 2011, Jake spent a year serving as an intern at both the Purdue Wesley Foundation and West Lafayette First UMC. In 2012, Jake began his pastoral education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Jake was commissioned for full-time ministry by Bishop Michael Coyner at the 2015 Indiana Annual Conference and ordained by Bishop Julius Trimble in 2018.


Jake met his wife, Janelle, on the steps of Shreve Residence Hall at Purdue in 2007, and they were married by the Wabash River in 2014. Janelle works for Meridian Health as a medical social worker in Jay County. The Ohlemillers welcomed their son Amos into the world in December 2018, and their family also includes a lovely long-haired cat, Scarlett, and a very loyal lab/corgi mix, Chloe. Together, Jake and Janelle enjoy raising healthy food in the parsonage garden, taking long walks south of town, reading good books, and talking for hours about everything under the sun.


Tricia Williams -- Administrative Assistant

Tricia has been the administrative assistant at Albany UMC since February 2018. She comes to us with over 10 years of office administration experience. Tricia and her son Mason live in Daleville. She is a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and is currently a Local Licensed Pastor in the Indiana Conference. Tricia serves as Senior Pastor at Rehboth UMC in Parker City, and is active in jail & prison ministry around the state.


Dennis & Cheryl Wasson -- Musical Directors

Dennis: Church organist, choir accompanist, and member of the handchime choir. He is a graduate of Muncie Central High School and Ball State University (BS in Music Education, MA in Music). Dennis was a bassoonist & saxophonist with the 5th Army Band based in Chicago. He was a public school music teacher for 30 years - teaching all grade levels choral and instrumental. Dennis has also served in various music postions in several churches beginning in high school.

Cheryl: Church pianist & Choir Director, as well as Co-Chairman of the church's annual bazaar. She is a graduate of Royerton High School and Ball State University (BS in Music Education, MA in Music) Cheryl was a public school music teacher for 30 years teaching all grade levels choral and instrumental, as continues as private instructor for piano and voice. She has served in various music positions in several church beginning in junior high school as a Junior Church pianist.

Both have done composing and arranging, as well as judging at Indiana State Music Association solo, ensemble and organization contests.

Dennis and Cheryl have one son, Eric (wife Kathy) and one granddaughter, Rochelle. They are parents to 3 Shih-tzus furbabies.


Nikki Adams -- Preschool Teacher

Nikki Adams has been the Preschool teacher at AUMC for 22 years. She was born and raised right outside of Albany, and she knew from a young child that when she had a family of her own that she wanted to raise them in the same small community. She has been married to her husband for 12 years, and has 3 children and 2 step children all of which are boys. Nikki loves spending time with her family, being outside and watching the boys play sports over the years. 


Melissa Glidden -- Preschool Teacher

Melissa, her husband and daughter moved to Albany in 1997. She says they continue to enjoy the people and community.  
She started at AUMC Preschool in August 2001.  Her daughter went through the preschool for 2 years.  When she graduated to kindergarten, Melissa was able to start at the preschool.  She enjoys watching the children grow in many different ways during the time they are with us. Melissa also enjoys gardening, reading, riding bikes with her husband and spending time with family.

Jack & Linda Janney -- Church Custodians

Jack retired from Wes-Del schools as a bus driver, and the Town on Gaston maintenance department. He enjoys playing gold 3-4 times a week.

Linda retired from Townsend where she worked at the corprate office in the accounts payable department. She is currently a member of the Albany Lions Club.

Together, they take tickets at Delta football and basketball games. They enjoy gardening and mowing the yard.

They have a blended family which includes 6 children (1 deceased), 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
